The Pre-Run:

The pack was reasonably well assembled and ready to go at the appointed time at "A", but determined to wait until a few last minute arrivals made their way to the start in the Happy Valley park across from the tram station.

At 6:45, the assembled gentlemen were sent down the stairs and under the race track to the running path that parallels the track.

The hares, assisted by Tinks, loaded bags into the Tinks mobile and headed off towards "B".

The Run:

The early part of the run was a warm-up that sent the pack out the race course exit at the northern end of the track and onto Wong Nai Chung road, where the trail immediately crossed over to Link Road.

Crossing Ventris, a two way check sent the pack right on Ventris Road and then left onto Blue Pool Road.

Proceeding uphill, the front runners paused at a potentially devious check at "the pipe", but the distraction was avoided and the trail proceeded uphill towards Tai Hang Road. Another check at Green lane caught Dribble who, after offering that markings were on inconsistent, revealed that he walked uphill thru a falsie in order to get to what he thought was the real trail.

The rest of the pack crossed Blue Pool and ran west, then downhill, north down and several flights of stairs before Green Lane dumped them back onto Blue Pool Road. A quick left on Holly Road and Hawthorne sent the pack around the Jockey Club and down Shan Kwong road and towards the race track.

The trail crossed Shan Kwong road and proceeded northerly again along the race track and towards the new Cosmopolitan Hotel at Queens Road east. Here, a check sent the pack towards Wanchai and Stubbs road.

At this point, something went amiss for some. The check at Stubbs and Queens Road apparently lost Kiwi, Haggis, and Toby who ran a field at this point and were not to be seen until much later in the evening.

The correct trail ran up the west side of Stubbs road and past the playground where a check back sent the pack up to Shu Fai Terrace. Here, at exactly 30 minutes into the run, the Hares and Tinks met the pack – led by Pussyfoot and Cabbage, for a spot of "Wild Turkey" before they set out to solve another check. The second set of runners, Saddle and Ice, showed up about 3 minutes later and they were followed by Smegma and Hugh What. But that was all.

The trail went up to Bowen Road where 2 checks sorted out the front runners before turning left towards the Cricket Club. Another check back sent the pack up some stairs and towards Rosary Hill School before winding uphill to Shirley's old Mt. Nicholson apartments.

The old rope trail was then negotiated before the final turn right onto Blacks Link and slog to "B" at Wong Nai Chung Gap park. Pussyfoot was first in at exactly 1 hour, winning the Turkey Trot run award. He was followed very quickly by Ice, and thereafter by the other 4 in the pack.

Jack Off, walking back from the Shu Fai check, found Dribble. And, after returning to "A", jumped in a cab and joined the pack at "B".

The Pre-Circle:

The gentlemen were supplemented by the arrival of Squeak, Pugak, and Fat Man Wanks who updated all with their respective comings and goings.

At just about 8:45, the lost pack members showed up and Kiwi called the circle to order shortly thereafter at 9:07 pm.

The Circle:

The hares are nominated for Amah. And, after having a neckie, the scribes note taking were assumed by Pugak who may choose to supplement these notes at a later time.
