Greetings, fellow hashers, from Bali Hash House Herriers, and from all of us in Bali, which, for a very wrong reason, has been much in the news lately. You've all heard of the terrible catastrophe that has befallen us. We're not taking this lying down, but very much on our feet - ON ON! and we are determined to do something positive about it, with your help.

All Hash kennels are amalgamating to put on a splendid extravaganza, to which you are most cordially invited. Known as the BALI RECOVERY RUN, it will consist of week-end of fun and games and hashing, bashing and thrasing-preceded by regular run with Bali HHH on Friday, 14 Feb 2003, and followed also by run with Bali HHH on Monday, 17 Feb 2003, assuming that there will be any survivors. Actually four days of hashing in all. We'll show you the real Bali, by God!

Mark the dates in your 2003 diary now - Friday, Feb 14th to Monday, Feb 17th - four very special days in any calendar. Feb 14 will be not only Valentine's Day, but also Hari Bhatari Shri, sacred to our goddess of rice cultivation; Feb 15 will see the Chinese celebration of Cap Go Meh; Feb 16 turns out to be Septuagesima, third Sunday before Lent; while Feb 17 will be Hari Besar Buddha (Maghapuja). It will also be full moon on Feb 16. Cor blimey! Any more for the Skylark?

Our HQ, Hash Secretariat, Registration, and venue for main events will be at the Grand Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur, right on the beach. The hotel (and indeed all other hotels) will offer highly discounted room rates, and there are some amazing packages on offer from our national flag carrier, Garuda. Check in the Jakarta Post and with any travel agent in order to make your travel arrangements. And let us know if you wish us to make bookings for you.

So as to make this a most attractive proposition, special entrance fee of Rupiah 300,00 (500,000 after december 31st) is being applied to all local Indonesian Hashers. Visitors from overseas are being asked to ante up US$ 75 ( 100 after December 31st ), While kids from anywhere up to age 16 get in for a measly Rp50,000. Lucky buggers !

Please come and join us and help put some life back into our benighted island. Just fill in the registration form, send it back to us as quickly as possible , and we'll take care of the rest. Believe us, now is the best possible time to be here, with Bali Hash House Harries in Bali. You will all be welcomed in true Balinese traditional fashion. As pretty well all the world knows, when we go to town in Bali, we do it in style.

Or signal your attendance by e-mail: info@balirecoveryrun.com or register online on our web site: www.balirecoveryrun.com.
