Introduction
The 2006 Tour is to Vientiane, Laos. The Hash Master & the Tour Master have been on a recce and have everything arranged.
Departure is on Thursday 28th September returning on 2nd October. 2nd October is a holiday in HK so only one day (or 1½) of leave is required.
The cost will be about HK$4,700 (depending on numbers), which covers flights, hotels in BKK & Vientiane and transportation in Vientiane.
Beer and food in Laos are very cheep so the whip will not be expensive.

Entry requirements for Laos
Laos Visas are available on arrival. Cost is US$30 and you need a passport photo or a copy of the picture page of your passport.
One website stated the need for a Certificate of Bank Statement (min. USD 400.-) or life insurance policy. Although this is not
currently being asked for, taking a copy of your travel insurance or a bank statement would be prudent.

Thursday, 28th September
For those travelling with the main group meet at Starbucks in the Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan (HK side) before 10.30am.
At this point the Tour Master will give you your ferry ticket (11.00am). The flight from Macau is at 14.20pm.

On arrival in Bangkok check in to the Manhattan Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 15 (http://www.hotelmanhattan.com/). Once checked in there should be plenty of time to hang out, then meet-up for a dinner before heading out to Soi Cowboy, Nana, Patpong etc. etc.

Friday, 29th September
Everyone staying at the Manhattan Hotel should be in the lobby before 6.00am. The flight departs for Vientiane at 8.20am.

On arrival in Vientiane check in to the Inter City Hotel, 24-25 Fa Ngum Road, Ban Wat-Chan Chanthabury District Vientiane Capital Lao PDR.

After lunch the afternoon will see the first RS2H3 tour run, which will be a City run to give a taste of the local culture.

This will no doubt be followed by dinner and a sampling of the local nightlife.

Saturday, 30th September
Sightseeing in the morning will likely be followed by lunch.

In the afternoon we will be joining the Vientiane Bush Hash House Harriers (http://www.laoshash.com/start_vbh3.htm).
The Bush Hash meet at Nam Phu (The fountain) @ 15:45hrs (3.45pm).

Sunday, 01st October
Free morning for sight seeing, which again will likely be followed by lunch.

In the afternoon will be the second RS2H3 tour run.

Monday, 02nd October
The main group will depart Vientiane on the morning of Monday 2nd October.
Travelling via Bangkok and Macau will arrive in HK about 10.30pm that night.

Other details
Due to the opening of the new Bangkok Airport (NBK) on 28th September, check-in luggage is not recommended.

There is a Thb500 departure tax when leaving Bangkok airport.

The hotel rooms in Vientiane do not have safes so a pad-lock for your bag is advised.

US$ are in common use in Vientiane so you do not need local currency. US$1 and US$5 notes are useful.

In Vientiane expect to spend less than US$150 on beer, food and taxis.

There is a US$10 departure tax when leaving Vientiane airport.
