Revised run location due to Typhoon Nesat

This week’s run is moving from the sitting out area by Shun Tak Centre to Central Ferry Pier 7 (Star Ferry) to provide more shelter from the elements… so don’t go to Sheung Wan (well, not if you’re looking for the run, at least!)

** UPDATE: Tonight’s run IS still on… 6:45, Pier 7 (or Pier 9, or somewhere in between) **

Wanchai Park? Which Wanchai Park?

Much confusion amongst the pack about where tonight’s run is.  ”Wanchai Park” states Pussyfoot at the run last week.  A stunning amount of drivel results on the mailing list, considering there is only one Wanchai Park, it’s the one on the map called – and here’s the clever part, everyone – “Wanchai Park”.

Or, if it helps, then “the park near Camel’s pad” as it shall henceforth be known.  Well, until Camel moves again, at least.

Space available, editors wanted!

Anyone want to utilise their literary talents to contribute topical posts to this page?  Or else I’ll have to ask the Scribe!  (Just joking… I wouldn’t resort to that… no, that’s a joke too, the Scribe is welcome to contribute, of course…)  Only the Hashmaster currently has access to post here, other than your ‘umble Webperson, and he’s not exactly prolific… So give me a shout if you’re interested in contributing your drivel, to save us all from MY drivel!

Hash Flash has returned

110623-rs2h3-1999-076After a number of technical hassles that I won’t bore you with, we now have some piccies on the new web site.  Go to the Hash Flash link above – our 1999 and 2000 runs are represented here, more (historical stuff) to follow.  In the meantime, here’s today’s pin-up, with ET modelling hash fashion from yesteryear!

FOYC Irish Spew

This week’s run is Irish Spew’s last with the Southside, or so he promises us!  We wish him well in his “retirement” in Bristol.  Or wherever he ends up next.

Although this post is really just an excuse to use another of these bizarre pics [see also this week's run details] which I found while Googling for “irish flag”.

Enjoy is not really the word… gasp in horror, perhaps, and marvel at the whiteness of the lady on the left… makes your humble webmaster look positively tanned!  (OK, not really…)

2000th Run Report

So, the storms held off (well, up until the point when the RA appeared at dinner!).  A sunny, clear, HOT day in Coloane afforded great views from the hills around the Pousada.

We had a higher than anticipated turnout, with 91 runners/attendees plus a number of ankle biters (that’s a reference to kids, by the way, not the mosquitoes who were also out in force) and over 80 at the bash.  Runners in attendance came from HK (obviously), Macau (of course), Shekou & other parts of China, Thailand, Singapore, and the USofA.

Sunday’s 2001st “hangover run” (for those who didn’t have one the previous day!!) had 32 attendees.

An excellent weekend overall, with over HK$3,500 of beer and softies consumed during the 2 Circles.  All 2000 Run stash was sold and Hash Stash offloaded a lot of other stash - even to the extent that beer koozies were being compulsorily seized from Southsiders to sell to our visitors - although our GPS/Compass watch sales were a little slow.

So a big thanks to the 2000 Run committee for arranging, to the tireless Pousada staff for hosting us, and to everyone who joined us for the weekend.  On on to the 3000th!!

More security…

To allay any concerns and free the Scribes to publish without being damned, we’ve got user groups set up now, which means we can now restrict content to true Southsiders only.  To start with, the links from the Hareline to the Voting, Notes etc are now accessible to Southsiders only.  (Which does mean, I’m afraid, that you have to log in to see them.)

For the time being, registration is still open to anyone – but only those designated as Southsiders by the webmaster will be able to see all our content.  Don’t worry, that doesn’t just mean those who are on Autopay… ex-Southsiders, overseas Southsiders, virtual Southsiders, and rubber chickens are also welcome to come on in!
